{"id":394,"date":"2006-08-02T04:18:25","date_gmt":"2006-08-01T21:18:25","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2006-08-02T04:18:25","modified_gmt":"2006-08-01T21:18:25","slug":"feds-appeal-loss-in-nsa-wiretap-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deepquest.code511.com\/blog\/2006\/08\/feds-appeal-loss-in-nsa-wiretap-case\/","title":{"rendered":"Feds appeal loss in NSA wiretap case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Bush administration has asked a federal appeals court to halt a lawsuit that accuses AT&#038;T of illegally opening its communication networks to surveillance by the National Security Agency.<br \/>\nPermitting the Electronic Frontier Foundation&#8217;s lawsuit to proceed would endanger national security and possibly expose classified information, the U.S. Department of Justice said in a legal brief filed on Monday.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The administration also nominated Laurence Silberman, a federal appeals court judge in Washington, D.C., to serve as an expert in this case.
