Nessus was missing a GUI to run nessus client for ages on Mac. An old version, back in the years allowed to use a java nessus client on MacOS 8.5 or 9. The only work around was the use of fink or darwinPort to run a GUI with X11, but only the console version was available without any 3rd party extension.

Nessus is a great up to date vulnerability scanner running a client-server architecture.
