Ipod+Childporn=40 years prison
A San Marcos man who admitted keeping sexually explicit images and videos of children on his iPod digital music player has been sentenced to 40 years in prison.
Thirty-nine-year-old Ron James Guzman pleaded guilty Thursday to nine counts of child porn possession and six of child porn promotion.
Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott says Guzman also pleaded guilty to four counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and one of indecency with a child in a plea deal in a separate case.
The sentences in both cases will run concurrently for a total prison term of 40 years.
Abbott’s office said Friday this was the first case it investigated in which an offender used an iPod to store child pornography.
?Innovative technology has made electronic recordings and photographs more portable and accessible,? Abbott said.
?Unfortunately, sexual predators are taking advantage of these new developments in order to exploit children,? Abbott said.
