ipod: minor design changes soon
Apple is launching a new version of its best-selling iPod digital music player, according to reports.
The new lower cost and longer life iPod should be officially unveiled later this week.
Apple’s iPod is the most popular digital music player in the world, with more than 50% of the digital music player market.
The digital music player has helped to boost Apple profits, with 860,000 being sold in the past quarter.
One of the big changes to the new iPod is the disappearance of the buttons that sat beneath its screen.
The buttons have been moved to lie around the wheel used to navigate through menus, an innovation copied from the iPod Mini.
A welcome change will be the boost to battery life which, according to Newsweek, should now last 50% longer.
