Bluejacking
A British PR agency published a white paper called ?Bluejacking as a Marketing Channel? where it predicts that ?bluejacking? will soon be adopted by marketers to send advertising messages to clueless mobile phone users. Coining the tactic as Bluespam, they just don?t realize that in order to get ?bluejacked? a consumer must have its phone set as ?discoverable? which is not the default setting in the majority of phone models.
Even if that is the case it?s really easy to opt-out from this possible annoyance. Other shortcoming is the fact that bluejacking (as any Bluetooth connections) occurs in a one-to-one mode, therefore not existing the possibility of broadcast messaging. Other factor to consider is that Bluetooth reach is only 10 meters which also restricts the reach of any bluespamming devices.
