Lulz Security, the group that claims to have been behind the massive computer hacks suffered by Nintendo, Sony, some FBI affiliates and the U.S. Senate, has announced it is disbanding. Known primarily as Lulzsec, the group has been on what they are referring to as a “50-day cruise” of hacking everything it could, whether the sites were government, corporate or public-related.

Hacker group says it simply grew bored. Evidence suggests authorities might be closing in.

A statement attributed to Lulz Security, which has tormented the computer systems of corporations and government agencies for 50 days, says it is calling it quits.

Lulz Security – a group of hackers claiming responsibility for hacking Sony and Nintendo and taking down the websites of the Serious Organised Crime Agency and the US Senate – has announced it is to disband.

Lulz Security, the hacker activist group claiming credit for breaking into websites at Sony Corp., the U.S. Senate and the Central Intelligence Agency, said it’s ending a wave of cyber attacks that began almost two months ago.

Lulz Security isn’t giving a reason for deciding to suspend operations 50 days after it first started hacking attacks.
