Facebook filtering & censoring chat.

I noticed few weeks ago that facebook chat was censoring some sites when using posting then to another friend. Not a big deal, you’ll tell me. Not really the biggest concern is that it mean that chat are also monitored and censored. Some words or website address cannot be posted, well in theory…

The iPhone running OS 3 has a stupid usability feature. It seems like the iPhone is automatically opening a browser when joining a network. When joining a network, the iPhone tries to do the following: 1. DNS queries for www.apple.com 2. Opening http://www.apple.com/library/test/success.html

Hackers exploit second DirectShow zero-day using thousands of hijacked sites

Thousands of legitimate Web sites hacked over the weekend are launching drive-by attacks using an exploit of a second critical unpatched vulnerability in Windows’ DirectShow component, a Danish security company said today.According to CSIS Security Group, the bug is in an ActiveX control, the “msvidctl.dll” file, that streams video content.

Jailbreaking programs for iPhone 3GS released

The teen hacker who unlocked the original iPhone is at it again. George Hotz, 19, claims to have created an app that can “jailbreak” the iPhone 3G S. That means the program, dubbed purplera1n, can install third-party software on an iPhone 3G S, even if that software is not approved by Apple.
