Old school chating!

Posted by deepquest on April 18, 2003 – 9:09 pm

There’re many instant messaging softwares: AIM, Ichat, MSN messenger. Most of them send clear text packet, easy to sniff.
What about a light client using rijndael algorithm and command line?

It might sound ugly but in fact it offers easy and safer (not safe) to chat from various plateforms: UNIX, Linux, *BSD and MacosX!
Icmp-Chat will compile just doing a “make”. Don’t exepect a GUI it’s just a console mode software.

All communications use sha256 for password hashing and it’s optimized for rijndael algorithm.
